Mary Morrison DTM, Region One Representative on Toastmasters International Board of Directors

Mary is an Organizational Development Manager for the city of Tacoma, Office of Equity & Human Rights, where she has worked for over 23 years.

Since 2006, her role has included leadership development for the executive team at the City of Tacoma and managing various change efforts. Most recently, she co-created the Office of Equity & Human Rights, where she oversees policy and program development to help Tacoma be an equitable place to live, work and play.

She holds a master’s degree in organization management from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. She also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and in 2014, earned a certificate of excellence from ICMA Center for Performance Measurement after leading a performance management team for the city of Tacoma. Since 2016, she has been a steering committee member in the Government Alliance on Race and Equity and a commission chair at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

As a member of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Morrison is a ‘working ambassador’ for the organization. She works with the Board to develop and support the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International to fulfilling its mission. A Toastmaster since 1997, Morrison’s home club is Sound Advice Toastmasters, in Tacoma

Bob ‘Idea Man’ Hooey, DTM, Accredited Speaker is a past District 21 Governor who leveraged his passion and his Toastmasters journey around the globe (53 countries, so far.)

“Have mouth will travel”, as he says.

He partners with top level leaders, individuals and progressive organizations who believe that investing in the growth of their teams is the avenue to profitable growth.

He is looking forward to returning to where it all began (District 21) in April, 2018.
