Mary Morrison DTM

Mary Morrison DTM, is the Region One Representative on Toastmasters International Board of Directors.

She is an Organizational Development Manager for the city of Tacoma, Office of Equity & Human Rights, where she has worked for over 23 years.

Since 2006, her role has included leadership development for the executive team at the City of Tacoma and managing various change efforts. Most recently, she co-created the Office of Equity & Human Rights, where she oversees policy and program development to help Tacoma be an equitable place to live, work and play.

She holds a master’s degree in organization management from Fielding Graduate University in Santa Barbara, California. She also holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt and in 2014, earned a certificate of excellence from ICMA Center for Performance Measurement after leading a performance management team for the city of Tacoma. Since 2016, she has been a steering committee member in the Government Alliance on Race and Equity and a commission chair at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

As a member of the Toastmasters International Board of Directors, Morrison is a ‘working ambassador’ for the organization. She works with the Board to develop and support the policies and procedures that guide Toastmasters International to fulfilling its mission. A Toastmaster since 1997, Morrison’s home club is Sound Advice Toastmasters, in Tacoma

International Director Mary Morrison DTM will share some touchstones for leadership to illuminate our path. Imagine your possibilities! 

While visiting the Okanagan, Mary will be making official presentations on behalf of Toastmasters International.


On Thursday April 19th at 3:00 pm, Mary will be presenting Toastmasters International’s Corporate Recognition Award to Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran at Kelowna City Hall.

This will take place at special meeting of the Kelowna City Hall Toastmasters Club. Guests are welcome to attend and participate!

Kelowna City Hall will be recognized for their enhancing employee engagement through continuing support of the Toastmasters program. 

On Friday April 20th at 10:30 am at City Hall Penticton, Mary will be presenting Penticton Mayor Andrew Jackubeit, Toastmasters International’s Corporate Recognition Award for the City of Penticton’s ongoing support of local Toastmasters clubs.
