Here is a message from our Conference CoChairs Marion Gushue-Geiger & Caroline Ivey:
“Ours is the only organization I know dedicated to the individual, we work together to bring out the best in each of us and then we apply these skills to help others.”
“We learn best in moments of enjoyment” Quotes by Ralph Smedley
My Toastmaster friends this is exactly what we are planning for you during the weekend of April 20 – 22, 2018 – D21 Conference – Imagine the Possibilities Create Your Path.
We can’t even use “spring” conference as an identifier anymore because as of this year there is only one District Conference per year and this is it!
We are in the entrenched in conference planning and we are looking forward to welcoming you on Friday, April 20.
A couple things we want from you:
1. Bring your banner for the Parade of Banners for the Opening Ceremony on Friday.
2. DTM’s – bring your medal(s) and wear them there will be a group picture of DTM’s .
3. If you have not already done so register! http://d21springconference.ca/ You won’t be disappointed! Encourage fellow club members, car pool, hotel share, make memories!
Coast Capri Hotel has a great pool, centrally located, come early and take advantage of a wine tour.
Silent Auction will be stunningly awesome – Area Baskets and donations are being collected now.
Great attention is being given to the educational sessions to provide you an excellent variety.
Entertainment – Friday night will be a hosted by a Kelowna Toastmasters, be prepared to laugh and Saturday night have on your dancing shoes – Music by John Byrne http://www.johnbyrnemusic.com/ check him out, he is fabulous!
Of course there is much more – keynote speakers – Mary Morrison, DTM – International Board of Directors and Bob Hooey, DTM, Past District Governor, speech contests, election of District Officers, 1st Timer Reception networking, eating, drinking, laughing – it is a weekend you won’t want to miss.
Join us and live the words of Ralph Smedley – “Ours is the only organization I know dedicated to the individual, we work together to bring out the best in each of us and then we apply these skills to help others.” “We learn best in moments of enjoyment”
